The goal of the Porch Bulb Project is to replace the standard incandescent bulbs on people's porches with energy-saving compact fluorescent ones. We are a project of Groundwork Denver, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Take a walk or drive around your city. Lots of people leave their porch lights on all night. This is understandable... nobody wants to live in a dark neighborhood. It also makes those porch bulbs ideal candidates for replacement with compact fluorescents.
Compact fluorescent bulbs use one quarter the energy of incandescent bulbs and can last ten times as long. Using this technology is a win-win situation. The world benefits, our country benefits, and you benefit by saving money on your electricity bills and not having to change your front porch lightbulbs more often than every couple of years.
